Wolf Eyes the other night, SO INSPIRING! Picked up the supposedly out of print W.E./Wiese CD Equinox at the merch table, Woohoo! Ravenstrain, also from Detroit, opened the show. Really good. Bomb drop-thunderclap low end. I got two of his tapes, "The Hollowed Out" and a collaborative tape with Sick Llama, who played first, but bored me. I think the emperor-has-no-clothes aspect of noise has to be confronted and dismissed by every performer, and the kid looked very unsure of himself, which, combined with the fact that his sound was drab and monotone, put me in a walking state of sleep.
