of a concert and the people encountered;

LANEWAY! It was the most awesome thing since VAMPIRE WEEKEND! Nine bands played (in sequence) Warpaint, Ladyhawke, Beach House, Deerhunter, Holy Fuck, !!!, Yeasayer, Foals and The Temper Trap (missed it D:). I didn't love all the bands that played, but FOALS WAS SO WORTH THE MONEY I PAID AND THE RAIN I ENDURED AND THE TIME I WAITED. My mom was being anal so I couldn't stay for The Temper Trap, but yeah, FOALS. Warpaint and !!! were surprisingly quite awesome! Holy Fuck is pretty damn cool even though I didn't like it too much because they used a 35MM FILM SYNCHRONISER HOW COOL IS THAT.

The weather was being a bitch though. It was fine and dandy, with occasional rain, until evening when it started to RAIN PERMANENTLY UNTIL A FEW MOMENTS BEFORE FOALS ENDED. I didn't have a poncho. I couldn't use my umbrella. So I ended up jumping around in mud while listening to the bands. Then my mom called after Foals and was being pissy so I left and realised that my white shoes were now BROWN. Completely, entirely brown. Got pissed and left them at the side of the road and walked barefoot all the way from Fort Canning down to Funan alone because I had to leave before the last band played.

On the way there, some guy near me realised I didn't have shoes and got all concerned. Then we started a small conversation, and we realised we were both Malaysians! I love little conversations like these!

I got rejected by THREE CABS because I wasn't wearing shoes and I was wet from the rain. I felt so damn miserable until this cab pulled over and THERE WAS A SUPER NICE DRIVER! He was like "you came from the concert there?" and talked about the Iron Maiden concert he wanted to go, the concerts he's been to, how "youngsters" should enjoy their youth, how Singaporeans are too damn uptight and stressed and cool cab stories about people he picked up from concerts. He was such a sweetheart! And he totally didn't mind that I lived in some obscure part of this island and was like "Don't worry, I'll be able to find my way out!"(even though this was his second time in the area)

I shall never go to a concert festival in January when it rains so damn much.
To be honest though, other than some very awesome moments, I liked the Vampire Weekend concert more than this.
