*I wrote earlier (5/8) about my knee giving me problems after the Derby parade. Well, I had it examined on 5/18 and again on 6/1. It turns out that I have Patella Tendonitis and something called Tuberclitis- a series of micro stress fractures on a bone where the Patella tendon connects with the shin. The doctor said that it's unusual for someone my age to have Tuberclitis (usually in teens). It's painful but not all the time; I keep it iced during breaks at work (and sometimes while working) and wrapped with a neoprene brace. I'm also starting some exercises to strengthen my quads and hamstrings and take some pressure off my knee area. I have a follow-up on the 22nd to see if the fractures have healed, then I have a whole range of options: nothing, if the area's healed; splint/brace; surgery- having a screw put into my shin to hold the fractures in place.

*With summer school- it's kinda hard to tell where I'm standing right now. In my Statics class, I did better on the 1st exam and quiz than I origonallt thought. But there's only a few grades in the class all semester- 3 exams, 5-6 pop quizzes- so if I want an A or B, I can't afford to mess up any of the exams. With Cal 3- HW grades are pretty good, quizzes are up-and-down (we have a quiz every Thursday 'til mid July), but my exam grades aren't good (exam every Tuesday; allowed to drop the 2 lowest or miss 1 for any reason). If I can pull the exam grades up to my quiz grade level, I should be in good shape come Finals (7/21 or around). My Chem class starts 7/1, so I'll have 3 weeks where I have classes from 8 -2:30 (MWF) or 9:30-1:15 (TTH).

*Summer colds- no matter how short- suck! Esp. when you oversleep on exam day!

*I'm excited about UofL's home FB schedule for 2006 not only b/c of who we play but we could finally get a few really decent marching bands in town:
-9/3 UK; I hope we absolutely destroy them! *evil laugh*
-9/16 Miami!; it was just announced that ABC(!!!!!) is broadcasting this game as their feature afternoon game- 3:30 PM! They may bring a band (maybe not their full band), according to some fans on their website
-10/6 Middle Tenn. State, in Nashville; there were rumors that the band would travel to this game but now it looks like we won't
-10/14 UC; same result as UK
-11/02: West Virginia, on ESPN; WVU is being picked as a Nat'l Title contender by most 'experts', with this game deciding the Big East Title. Last year, they won in 3 OT (on what BE officials later admitted as a bad call during an onside kick; a WVU player illegially blocked UofL from recovering the kick, but it was called a legal hit during the game). They are also bringing their 350-piece, Sudler Trophy-winning band; they are THAT good from what I've seen/heard of past halftime shows!
-11/18: South Florida; they embarrased UofL last year 41-14
12/2: UConn
