So just when we were pretty sure we were out of danger for loosing power thanks to the ice storm last night (there were several power flickers during the early morning hours, on towards noon, but nothing that stayed longer than a couple seconds), our lights go out. And stay out.

3pm. No lights, no heat.. no fishtank heater. :< About 6pm, we decided that the power wasn't coming back on any time soon, and packed up. The only reason I'm able to write this at all is thanks to Lilu's mom, who let us invade her house and stay the night (we got here around 7pm). Or as long as this lasts. I hope it doesn't last long. The temperature is down below freezing now (it's supposed to drop to 12 tonight D:), with any residual heat in the house fading fast. It was down to 65 inside when we left, and dropping. I'm worried about my feesh. And Lilu's plants. And the cats. Really a lot. The fish... I would be very sad about losing. Very sad. Especially since one of my guppies finally had a spawning that resulted in some babies that weren't eaten by the beta. Because I moved her out of the community tank. They were born on Monday, while I was at work.

But. I could live with their loss. The cats, on the other hand... I would be absolutely heartbroken if anything were to happen to the cats. They have fur, yes. They can cuddle together for warmth (should they so choose), yes. Lilu put out a warm blanket for them to curl up on. They've been outside for some time in the cold and not had any real problem, sure.

I'm still worried. If anything happens to Riva because I brought her out here with me instead of leaving her in CA when I left...

weather, feesh!!!, cat
