So I used to travel a lot with my family when I was younger. We went all over the place when I was really little, because my grandma had a motor home. For example, we went to Kansas a number of times to visit a friend of the family who raises (raised? she was old even then, she's probably passed away by now :C), and we went to Florida (by way of all the states down there in the south) to visit Disney World (which I only remember a little bit of, since I was only about 6 at the time >.>). But after I was about 12 years old, we only ever took short trips. Places that we could reach in a day or maybe two of travel. Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado... those were basically our maximum travel distances (from Southern California).
And then one year in High School, because my brother and I were being Homeschooled and the charter school we were affiliated with had a good deal going, we got to take a field trip to New York. :D It was supposed to be a week-long thing, but mom wanted to see the sights, and so got another family to fly out with us and we just sorta drove around the east coast for a while, exploring. XD (Which is why I've got everything up to Maine. <3)
And -then- I moved to the east coast. In my car. By way of most of the northern states. XD And have been to MD for Otakon. Which is why that state is highlighted. XD
It's odd seeing the gaps in my map. Little holes that don't technically exist for me, since I've never been there.
I'd like to visit New Orleans some day. My dad had a friend in the army from there, and when they both got out, he visited them. He says they made the best food he's ever had, and the only problem with it is that a week or so later you're hungry again! *snicker* They stuffed him full o' good Cajun cooking. <3
