(no subject)
So I got this awesome pirate ship kite (which was -not- $43, where I bought it X3) and have been all excited to put it together and fly the thing. So when I got home today and saw that it was fairly windy outside, I really quick assembled the thing, and ran outside (well, sidled outside, because the kite was too big to fit through the door unless I really worked angles XD).
Only to discover that the wind had died down to a mere whisper. *sadface* I gave it a good shot, running around out there like a six-year-old with her first kite for a good hour, and then decided it wasn't gonna work. Besides, the gnats were trying to eat me alive. x.x So I packed it up and hauled it back up the stairs... and the wind kicks up again, *facepalm*
Well fine, maybe I can fly it from the terrace. *snort* Let out some string, toss the tail over the railing, and wait for a good gust. And wait. And wait.
Apparently as I was getting the kite ready, the wind was dying down again. Sigh. So I really gave up, and started to haul the string back in. Half a haul later, I discovered the hard way that a biting/stinging bug of some kind had landed on the string. It gave me a nice little bite/sting, and flew away. *shakefist at bug*
Brought the kite back inside. It is now sitting on my bed, looking forlorn. :(
And the wind has kicked up again. XD
