Writing woes

I've been working on this fiction for the last few days and I really don't know what to do with it!

It's one of those stories that I had planned in my mind, from A to B, but then it decided to go to C, D, E and the rest of the damn alphabet before heading back to B.

I usually like it when that happens as it means it's interesting to me too. The characters, their actions and dialogue take on a life of their own and I like to see where that leads. I just switch off... and it writes itself.

However, this piece is now sitting at 13 pages and 4,537 words and there's still a little bit to go. I think it will finish under 5,000 words, but only just.

That's 5,000 words where 90% of it is just two characters talking to each other.

I don't know if anyone will even bother reading through all of that! I guess that when it's done I will post it anyway as I do think some people may be interested in the premise behind it, but I wonder how many people will make it all the way through.

It's also slightly different to what I usually write. I wonder if there is an audience for it.
