Your whole life, she says, you're searching for disaster - you're auditioning disasters - so you'll be well rehearsed when the ultimate disaster finally arrives...We have pain and hate and love and joy and war in the world because we want them. And we want all that drama to prepare us for the test of facing death, someday.
Christmas was so great. Best one ever, even though I didn't get the camera I wanted :(. I had enough money to buy it for myself but...that idea got shucked out the window the minute I step foot in Forever 21.
I also rediscovered my love for the game 'Taboo'. From Woodhaven we drove all the way back to my house to bring it back there. For those who don't know what 'Taboo' is, it's a game where you have a bunch of cards with words on them that you try and get your team to guess with one stipulation: you can't say any part of the word, or use clues containing the words in the list below it. I think my cousins and I played it for the entire afternoon. Pretty intense. We ended up watching I Am Legend and The Bucket List right after because for some reason Tess's boyfriend got a hold of them and burnt them on to DVDs.
I Am Legend reminded me SO MUCH of Resident Evil only this had an end and Resident Evil keeps going on and on. Is it just me? Who else has seen this movie? What do you think?
Later that night I came home to find a present on my doorstep (Chuck Palahniuk books from Kenny because he knew I've been wanting to read them. He's such a good friend!).
I also ended up sorting things out with an old friend; I'm glad she IMed me because that conversation was so long overdue...but would really not have happened had she not taken the initiative to talk to me. So yeah. Things are looking up.
My New Years Eve trip has been botched, and I don't know what's going on now. After all my shopping, I still have enough money left for MERCH MONEY for the concert (23 days :D). I still have homework to get done...I just remembered when Lisa left me a message about it. To think that I promised I'd have it done BEFORE break. Hah what a joke.
Speaking of break; I can't believe its almost over. UGH. Hate school. Midterms are starting soon. I can't wait for second semester, though, because that means this is ALMOST all over. Ah, Summer. I cannottttt wait.
EDIT: Well, just found out New Years Eve would be spent at my Aunt Starr's house. Mm. I wish I would've been able to go to Jenn's party. Uhmmm. Tomorrow's looking like a busy day - my dad's bullied me into helping him find the perfect home theatre system for the living room & setting up the new stuff him & mod bought from IKEA.
