On the bed
"Kame ... Are you asleep?" Jin turned around and poked Kame lightly on the back.
Kame shook his head and turned around to face Jin.
"Say ... One day, when I disappear from your life completely. Will you still think of me? Will you still remember me?" Jin asked intently.
A puzzled expression formed on Kame's face and he simply nodded.
"Why do you ask?" He reached for his notebook and scribbled on it.
"I was just curious. Heh." Jin forced a smile. "Don't worry about it! I was just trying to stop you from sleeping! HEH." He stretched his arms and gave out a laugh.
Kame gave an irritated look and turned away from Jin, falling into a deep slumber within seconds.
I'm so sorry, Kame. Sorry for hiding this from you. Time's running up for me and I just want to enjoy my last moments with you. I do not want you to be troubled over my condition and end up spending my last days with you in misery. I rather be the only one carrying the burden than sharing it with you. Kame ... Do you know how much I love you? Do you know how much it hurts to know that I have only this little time left to be with you?
Jin clutched his chest in pain.
Why must he be the one who suffers this?! Why must it be when he has finally found someone whom he can spend the rest of his life with, someone whom he can depend on, and someone whom he loves so dearly!
He combed his fingers through Kame's soft brown curls and drew the latter close to him. He put his arms around Kame and hugged him tight, while tears of agony trailed down his cheeks, wetting a part of Kame's hair. He prayed so hard, so hard that this night would not end. He do not want the warmth that he is feeling from Kame to disappear. He fears the cold. And most of all, he fears the absence of Kame.
Next morning
Kame turned around half awake and when his arm landed on the left side of the bed, he opened his eyes immediately to find that Jin was not there beside him anymore. A surge of insecurity rushed through his blood as he jumped out of his bed and went around the house searching for Jin. He did not understand what was going on. Where had Jin gone to? He collapsed onto the cold hard floor and cried silently. His heart felt as cold as the floor.
"Say ... One day, when I disappear from your life completely. Will you still think of me? Will you still remember me?"
Kame panicked.
Was Jin trying to imply something?
Kame called Jin on his handphone, but found the number not in use anymore. He wanted to go to Jin's house instead, but realise that he did not know where the latter lived at all.
He knew ... nothing about Jin.
In school
"Kame?" Ueda tapped lightly on Kame's shoulder.
The latter snapped out of his reverie and looked at Ueda.
"Are you okay?" Ueda asked, his brows furrowed with concern.
Kame simply nodded and ignored everybody for the rest of the day. He did not know what to say to them. He has not even found the answer to Jin's sudden disappearance. Was Jin abandoning him for good?
Many a time, when he thought of Jin, his heart would ache and tears would start accumulating in his eyes, but he managed to prevent them from falling by his constant blinking.
Jin ... Where are you?
For the next few days, Jin had missed school and Kame had been missing sleep because his mind was constantly occupied with Jin, Jin, and more Jin.
He didn't eat. He didn't write. And he was cooped up in his own world, isolating himself from others.
"Damn it. He is in a condition worse than before." Koki cursed.
"There must be something we can do, no?" Maru frowned.
"We gotta find Jin. He owes Kame an explanation." Ueda crossed his arms. "Let's start with his best friend first."

"Do you know how Kame has been for the past few days?" Yamapi crossed his arms in front of his chest.
"Shut up, Pi." Jin's voice was weak.
"Do you know that he has ignored everybody? He hasn't even written a word. He isolated himself, Jin. He is so hurt that he don't see why he should continue living. Everytime I see him, there are tears in his eyes. Doesn't this break your heart?" Yamapi continued. "Are you sure you want to end it this way?"
"Tell me what I can do, Pi! Fucking tell me! I don't want him to see me in this state! It will hurt him even more!" Jin shouted, using every ounce of energy left in his body.
"Call him! Call him and tell him where you are! He wants to see you, Jin. And I know you want to too." Pi handed Jin his handphone.
"Pi ... You don't understand ..." Jin started crying uncontrollably and spoke betweeen sobs. "You don't know how much it hurts ..."
"It's precisely I know how much it hurts that's why I want you to call him! Tell him everything!"

Kame ran with all his might to the hospital Yamapi told him. He didn't know why the latter told him to meet him in the hospital, but he knew that Yamapi's the only clue to Jin's disappearance and no matter what, he must meet him. Panting hard, he finally reached the hospital, and Yamapi only gestured to him to enter a ward. Kame didn't know why but his hands were trembling. He fear what was going to appear in front of him when he opens the door. Somehow ... he just had a really bad feeling about it.
"Kame ..." Jin weakly mouthed out, tears brimming in his eyes.
Kame didn't understand what was happening. Why is Jin in the hospital? Why is he so weak? What's happening?
"I'm sorry, Kame. I'm sorry for not telling you about my condition."
Kame's lips trembled, and he dragged his feet, slowly moving towards Jin.
"Kame ... I don't have much time left." After saying that, tears flowed more rapidly down Jin's cheeks.
"Why didn't you tell me anything?! Why did you keep it from me?!" Kame penned down the words with hard strokes, and tears dropped one after another onto the paper.
"Because I didn't want you to see me in this state. I don't want you to be heartbrokened seeing me suffering. I thought it would be best to leave you silently, without you knowing anything." Jin grabbed Kame's hand tight.
"Kame ... I really love you so much. So much that I can't describe. These few days without you were hell. you are so important to me, so so important. I really wish to be with you forever, but God is so cruel. He is taking you away from me. Oh God ... Kame ..." Tears couldn't stop flowing and Jin cried even harder, biting his lips to prevent any sobbings.
"Ah ... Ah ..." Kame tried speaking. "AH!" And that was all that could come out of Kame's mouth.
Jin gave a mild smile and said, "It's the first time you ever tried sp ... spea ... speaking ..."
Jin's tight grip on Kame's hand loosened.
And his eyes closed.
"AH! AH! AH!" Kame desperately cried out. He shook Jin aggressively, in an attempt to wake him up.
I HAVEN'T SAID I LOVE YOU, JIN! YOU CAN'T DIE! YOU CAN'T DIE! I HAVEN'T TOLD YOU I LOVE YOU! DAMN IT, JIN! DAMN IT!
And all Kame could do was cry ...
