Hand in hand, the two walked along a long path to Kame's home.
"It feels so surreal. Holding your hand and walking side by side with you while the sun is setting. It's just so ... wonderful." Jin said softly.
Kame tilted his head and smiled sweetly at Jin.
I guess this is how love feels like.
"I love you, Kame. I really do." Jin looked deep into Kame's eyes and they seem to say "I love you too" back at Jin.

Next day in school

When the two figures stepped into the school together again, all the female students were staring hard at Kame, wondering why he is with Jin again. Yes, they were burning with immense jealousy, so much so that Kame felt that tinge of fear growing in him. Jin simply grabbed Kame's hand and squeezed it hard.
"Don't mind their glares." Jin whispered into his ear.
Kame nodded and immediately let go of Jin's hand. Somehow, he didn't want their relationship disclosed.
"I'll walk to class alone." Was all Kame wrote on his notebook before he left Jin standing alone at the corridor, with a face filled with confusion and hurt.

In the classroom

"What exactly is going on between you and Jin?" Maru sat himself at the seat before Kame and turned around to face him.
"Nothing." Kame wrote in an attempt to show nonchalance, but failed miserably.
"Yeah yeah, stop acting Kame. We can all see that there's something going on between the both of you." Koki placed his hands at the sides of his waist.
"Come, on. Tell us. Aren't we your friends?" Taguchi gave a little frown and pout. "Kame always keeps things to himself."
"We're kind of together." Kame scribbled illegibly. It took a good five minutes before the guys realised what he had written.
"WHAT?" They exclaimed in chorus.
"I knew I shouldn't have told you guys." Kame wrote again.
"No, it's not that. We're just kind of surprised. I mean, I never knew you were interested in guys." Koki softened.
"I never knew I would even be interested in anyone." Kame wrote abashedly.
"Wow~ Kame's in love!" Taguchi nudged him hard.
"Don't tease him, you silly thing." Ueda chided. "Now that you have somebody you love, Kame, you must cherish him. Don't let him slip away. Because I know that you're an expert in doing that. Don't do anything that will make you regret, Kame." His tone changed from stern to gentle as he turned to face Kame.
Kame simply nodded in gratitude. He will keep Ueda's words in mind.
"Let's go to the canteen together? We haven't eaten with you for a long time." Koki offered.
Kame nodded and revealed a smile of happiness. The four friends have never seen Kame smile like this before, and it warmed their hearts seeing him gleaming with elation.

In the canteen

It was the first time Kame was giggling silently at all the jokes the four friends have exchanged and it seemed like he was really enjoying their company. Just then, a series of gasps and sudden silence impregnated the air and the five of them stopped talking and looked to the direction others were staring at.

A tear drop trailed down Kame's pale cheek.

Jin had grabbed a girl towards him and kissed her ever-so-passionately.

Hurt.

Kame felt like his heart had been shredded into pieces. Old wounds have reopened. He was, once again, deluded by somebody he thought he could trust and have placed his faith with. He stood up so quickly that the chair fell back and he ran as fast as could, with tears brimming in his eyes. He just wanted to get away from everybody. He just wanted to be alone. Never again will he ever think that anybody is worth believing in.

Jin saw Kame running away and he pushed the girl on the floor and started giving chase. What the hell had he done? He has hurt Kame, someone whom he had least wanted to hurt. He slapped himself for his stupidity. How could he have kissed the girl? He clutched his chest as his heart was throbbing with pain and he started tearing. Kame was hurt ... once again. And this time, he had caused it.

"I know your condition, Akanishi Jin." The girl had a smug on her face.
"Don't think you can scare me." Jin tried concealing the fear that was growing inside him.
"You really think so? Hah. Do you want me to tell your beloved Kame about it and have him confront you about it then?" Jin swore he had wanted to slap that bitch.
"Don't you even breathe a word about it to him. And don't you call him Kame." Jin threatened, his voice low and stern like a lion.
"Why ... Why ... You're so daring to use this kind of tone to talk to me. Why don't you give me a passionate kiss and I will consider not telling your beloved KAMEnashi about it?" She slurred her words and threw a seductive glance at him. Jin simply rolled his eyes in disgust. As he was desperate not to let Kame know of his condition, he did not think twice and pulled that slut towards him and crashed his lips on hers. Little did he know that Kame was present ... and had even witnessed everything.

"Kame! Wait! Let me explain!" Jin cried out desperately for him.
Kame ran even faster, tears flowing even more readily and his heart hurting even more badly with every step he took. The scene of Jin kissing that girl keeps appearing in his mind. He just wished that some car would bang into him now so that he will lose part of his memory; the part where Jin had occupied, so that he would not feel so much pain now. The agony was simply unbearable.

Jin finally caught up with Kame and pulled him into his embrace. Kame struggled hard and pushed Jin away, then retreated to the middle of the road, hoping to keep a distance between him and Jin.

"KAME!" Was all Jin could shout.
