Maybe it was the quiet and calm air in the dorms that made Sunday mornings so great. Or maybe it was the fact that no one was awake when he was and it made him feel like he could do anything and not get judged by his hyungs. Sunday mornings were usually the best part of his week; it was his "alone time" until one of the others woke up and asked for breakfast. Either way, Ryeowook always liked Sunday mornings.
Ryeowook liked the way the dorms looked when no one was milling around the living room or the kitchen. Now, when he thought about it, the dorms made him feel small without anyone else in the room. Not that this was a bad thing, he liked moving around and using all the space he needed. And when he was set to work on something, he used a lot of room. He would set out papers to compose music or write down lyrics, only to set them away to read a book from Hangeng's library in the living room. Sometimes, when composing music or reading books got too boring, Ryeowook would slip into the massive kitchen and start cooking breakfast for his hyungs.
Breakfast was different everyday : crepes on one day, pancakes and waffles the other, and maybe if the eternal magnae was feeling a little "out there", banana bread, strawberry and grape jam with bread, and the occasional fruit salad would be waiting on the table for the sleeping giants. Ryeowook liked making everything, but making crepes was his favorite breakfast to make. He would never let anyone know this, but the only reason he liked making the delicious, luscious pieces of heaven that happened to melt in your mouth was because it was Kyuhyun's favorite dish.
Ryeowook liked the way Kyuhyun's face would light up whenever he walked into the room to discover crepes were waiting on the table for him. The gamer would still be in his dinosaur pajamas and his eyes would have bags under it, but everything went away once he took a seat at the table and simply devoured everything that was set on his plate. The sight of his dongsaeng enjoying his food made Ryeowook's heart flutter involuntarily while butterflies flew in his stomach.
This particular Sunday morning started off the same as any other. Ryeowook would wake up a couple minutes after the sun had taken its position in the sky and start waking everyone in the city. He would then quickly freshen up, trying to be as quiet as he could be without waking the others. Maybe for an hour or two, the eternal magnae would sit in the living room, trying to compose another song or finish another book. After that, the kitchen would call to him, almost pleading him, asking him to fill it with mouth-watering smells of the exceptionally amazing food he managed to conjure up. And once its wish was granted, the kitchen would welcome anyone who happened to smell the sweet scents of banana, strawberry, or chocolate crepes.
On most occasions, the first visitors were Donghae, Eunhyuk, or the quiet Kibum. Donghae and Eunhyuk would come in a pair, hair still fairly messy and ruffled with their customized fishy and monkey pajamas. Kibum would follow shortly after in a slightly better shape, with his eyes still closed and his walking just barely resembling a penguin's. Greetings would be exchanged, jokes would be cracked, and laughter would erupt, filling the entire dorm with the noise. More people would pile into the kitchen, Hankyung, Siwon, Shindong, Leeteuk, Kangin, Kyuhyun, and the others.
Once the sun was shining is brightest, all fifteen members - including Henry and Zhou Mi - would be gathered around the kitchen, sharing the dishes their beloved Ryeowook had selflessly made for them. Ryeowook would sit in the middle of the crowd, lost in the numerous conversations in a variety of languages. But his eyes were fixed on one person all this time.
Kyuhyun.
Ryeowook always felt happier whenever the magnae was around ; Kyuhyun was like the sun, always brightening the room despite his snarky and sarcastic remarks and gamer traits. Kyuhyun somehow had this effect on Ryeowook and he seemed to notice because Kyuhyun was always smiling in the elder's direction. Not that the latter was complaining; to be honest, he liked the attention. Kyuhyun would throw in a wink that Ryeowook's heart almost stopped because it was beating so fast.
After the crepes were slowly, and hungrily, devoured and stuffed in everyone's stomach, each member would go their separate ways. Eunhyuk and Donghae would go to the park and play around on the swings. Heechul would stay on his laptop for the remainder or the day - this would explain why the man was so damn pale. Leeteuk and Kangin would go out to town and do some "parental things," they had said. Everyone left Ryeowook alone in the kitchen, departing with farewells and many "Wookie, that was so good!" statements. The younger one would grin and push the remaining members out, wanting them to have fun despite their protests and their want to help clean up.
Being the nice person he was, Ryeowook would kindly smile and push them out once more until the last one was out. Once everyone was gone, a sigh escaped from his mouth and the worker quickly set to work. He proceeded to wash the dishes before a pair of hands slinked their way around his tiny waist. The small boy jumped, surprised at the sudden contact from behind. A soft voice would instantly reveal the intruder ; it was the voice that made Ryeowook melt because it was just so sweet it almost gave him a cavity. It was the same voice he had memorized during the concerts, the one that he longed to hear every single day.
It was quiet now. Ryeowook stood in front of the sink, hands dripping in soap, with Kyuhyun murmuring sweet things in his ear. Soft breaths tickled the eternal magnae's cheek, making the blood rush to his face. A laugh was heard and arms left Ryeowook's bubble.
Ryeowook gave a whine and quietly wiped the soap off his hands with water before turning his back to the wall. Kyuhyun stood before there with a smirk on his angelic face. The taller boy stuck his tongue out and giggled softly. The sight brought a smile on the elder's face, his ears still a soft pink.
The two of them stood like that for a moment before Kyuhyun broke the silence. I don't know if you know this, but Wookie, you're really cute when you pout, he said with a bright laugh. He took another step forward, closing the space between them.
Shut up, Ryeowook whined, wrapping his arms around Kyuhyun's neck, bringing him closer than before. Their noses were barely touching, faces just a couple inches apart. The younger caught the other's eyes in a staring contest, expelling an aura of courage and excitement.
Did I tell you I love you, Kyu? Ryeowook whispered, his breath making contact with the latter's lips. Both boys smirked, eyes still focused on the other. Kyuhyun nodded softly, his eyes slowly closing as he came closer.
In an instant, Ryeowook felt another pair of lips crashing onto his own. It was soft, but it managed to set off a million blazing fireworks inside his body. It was sensational and exhilarating; both feelings were hard to come across at the same time. Ryeowook liked the feeling, he liked it more than making crepes in the morning.
No other feeling - or person in this case - could ever replace the ones he had right at this moment.
Ryeowook knew he liked Sunday mornings.
