I started watching "Sunadokei" again. ^_^ (the drama where Aoyagi Ruito takes one of the 4 lead teenage roles) It is so good!!! >_< The story is amazing and the actors/actresses are really good too! *____*
The plot is that the main character, Uekusa An, and her mother returned from Tokyo to where her mother grew up in Shimane (an island) when they got a divorce. At first An doesn't like the island, but she meets her three friends, Kitamura Daigo, Tsukishima Fuji (Ruito's role), and Tsukishima Shiika, and she starts to see Shimane as her home. It's basically a story of love, tragic, and growing up. The meaning of the title "Sunadokei" is "Hourglass", and it is a very important part of the story. This story was adapted from a manga with the title "Sand Chronicles".
Oh and you gotta know that the role of each of the four characters are played by 3 people: the 12 year old version, the teenage version, and the adult version. So we get to see them all grow up ^__^
Now, for a little bit of my insight after watching ep 17 :D
WARNING: MAJOR SPOILERS!!!! and is Ruito (or rather his character) centric ^^;;
First, you gotta understand that An's mother was basically devistated by the divorce, because he was the one person she loved and she even ran away from her home in Shimane to be with him. So when the divorce was decided, she was REALLY upset. By the end of the 3rd or 4th episode, she had commited suicide, leaving An with her grandmother. An was also very upset, thinking she was the reason her mom couldn't go on in life. But her first and best friend on Shimane, Daigo, told her that he would always be there for her (you get to see this scene MANY times ^^ it's sweet).
So then we move to the teenage years, where they start off as 2nd year in Junior High, starting at ep5. (let me put in randomly: OMG Ruito, you make my heart go numb *___*) An obviously likes Daigo but there is another girl, whom we shall call G cuz I forgot her name ^^;;, who also has an interest in Daigo. So G puts An through many hardships?, including hiding her precious hourglass (^_~) and making her go find it. But in the end, An and Daigo do confess and they are basically boyfriend and girlfriend ^____^
As things were going well, suddenly, An's father shows up, and asks her to come back to Tokyo with him after she graduates Junior High (which isn't long). At first, she doesn't want to, but eventually, she makes the decision of going to Tokyo, leaving Daigo and all her friends. T^T And her life in Tokyo begins....but of course, there are love and relationship complications....
You must be wondering why I haven't talked about Ruito much yet :D; oh, just wait, I'm getting to that ^^. So Ruito's character is the quiet gentleman (kinda like Yagyuu...wait, now that I think about it, he even has the glasses O_O) He's soft-spoken, polite, and is the top in studies. Furthermore, he belongs to a REALLY WEALTHY family and will inherite the company later(?). And he also hates his mother. I'm always amazed at how well Ruito can pull his character off cuz Fuji seldomly smiles, let alone laugh! But Ruirui really pulls that off SO WELL!! *__* His character can compete with Tezuka at a stonic expression contest, I swear! XD;; And the glasses~ OMG THE GLASSES! It makes him looks so grown up! >_< (Although I don't think Fuji actually has glasses in the manga O_O) Apparently he can't take them off in the drama cuz Fuji has really bad eye-sight.
So where the complication comes in is that while An suddenly decides to go to Tokyo, Fuji had already planned way before that he would go to Tokyo by himself to study after junior high school. (Anyone see my drift?) The reason being is that Fuji actually started to like An, but since An is with Daigo, he wanted to not be able to see her again and forget about her. But NO~~ life just has to get complicated. -_-'
He suddenly meets her in Tokyo and realizes he (still) likes her. He tells this to Daigo once when he went back to Shimane to get the rest of his stuff. Acutally, the way he worded it, he said "I MAY like An." So he MAY like her...he just DOESN'T KNOW if he does....O_O So now, Daigo's paranoid, and Fuji...well, I'm sure he's having troubles of his own. At the same time, the other girl, G XD;;, keeps droping by at Daigo's shop (yes, his parents own the local shop) and getting way too friendly with his parents. Then An finds out that G is often at Daigo's place and now she's paranoid. O____O ARGH, I wanna strangle that girl every time I see her!! >_< She's a good actress, but her role is just...*shakes her* Also, in the "present" aka the grown up versions of them, since An somehow stayed in Tokyo, Daigo already has a fiancee in Shimane. And An is upset, cuz obviously, she may still like him. T^T ...sorry, getting off-topic now....
Alright, back to Ruito/Fuji (I love his name~ ^_~) We figure out that later on that Fuji was actually born because of adultery with his mother and another man. He figured this out as a child (4 or 5 years old?) one day while he was looking for his parents when he got scared of a thunder storm. He walked into his parent's room(?) to find his mother on the futon and another man sitting beside her. And he's been having nightmares ever since whenever he remembers that. Hence why he hates his mother so much and thinks she doesn't care for him as much as she does for his sister, Shiika (who was probably a child between his mother and father). Let me also put in that Ruito's expression and ability to suddenly turn angry at "his mother" is amazing *_* I've never seen Ruito act angry before. o_o It's a very interesting change.
So back to the story....half of the reason why Fuji went Tokyo was to find his biological father; so that he's know what kind of a person he really was. Also, he's only told An the truth about his birth. (Oh no, here we go >_<) He's even got a letter from his "father" I think. So right now, I've gotten to the part where Fuji is planning to go see that man, but An is worried for him.
In the preview, we see that he's actually met the man, but the man says to see him now is an annoyance. Aw...poor Fuji/Ruito!! T^T And then there's a scene where we see Fuji and An standing on a bridge, probably after their talk (An was there too) and the last of the preview is of Ruito crying! T_______T Oh good lord, that bit made me squee like mad!! T^T OH RUIRUI!!!!!! >_< I've NEVER thought I'd see Ruito CRY. O___O *huggles him*
Ah! And there's also another bit from an earlier preview, which haven't happened yet, where Fuji suddenly takes An and kisses her O________________________O *excuse Yuu-chan while she goes and screams in delight/surprise/jealousy/fangirlism* OMG THAT TOOK ME BY SURPRISE. Cuz in the preview, it looks really fast and sudden. BUT HOMG!!!! I wanna be kissed by Ruirui >_< *shot* Yes, it was on the mouth too. *_________* Oh Ruirui, it seems he's already had his first kiss ^___________^ He is so adorable *_*
Watching this drama really shows how good of an actor Ruito is. Seriously. I've never seen him that serious before but wow, he can really do it! He looks so mature and different from the guy jumping around and doing flips around the stage. He's SO ADORABLE!!!!!!! *flails* Also, he's in a school uniform!!! (Anyone know of Yuu-chan's obsessions with uniforms? :D) There' no tie involved but it still looks so amazingly cool on him! Watching him in that get-up and looking so serious somehow just makes me want to go and hug him! >_< I LOVE YOU RUIRUI!!
And have I mentioned the glasses? *shot* <--has an obsession with guys who look good in glasses too XD;; (Aiba, Ono, Baba....Rurui...^^;;) Now I gotta go find my self some new glasses...>.> gak, it's hard! I would ask for advice, but you really don't know what I look like ^^;; *hides* <-that was totally irrelavent...O_O
The story itself is excellent too. ^___^ I seriously recommend it if you like drama/tragic stories, even if you're not a fan of Ruito ^_~ Unfortunately, I don't know how far it's been subbed, I only have the first one subbed, I've been guessing the rest ^^;; but even if it's just the actions, it's still really good! So go watch it! >_< I'll probably try and get my hands on the manga, either Japanese or English, asap XDD
Can't wait to watch the next episode!! o(^-^)o
ps. I just realized that I just spammed my poor flists 3 times today O_O sorry T^T
EDIT: since everyone's been talking about it, I'll keep it short :D The
Kampai Je T'aime PV = dorkiness + pretty boys + interesting dancing all squished into one XDD~ Seriously, I was trying so hard not to fall off my chair from laughing ^^;; Don't get me wrong, I LOVE THEM! ...just, nice dancing >_< The steps at 0:28 and 1:26 cracked me up the most XD the 1:26 looks like a ballet move ^^;; Kato seems to be having trouble sometimes...Minami's really good! And Baba...well you know how much I love him XD <-trying to keep it short O_O;
I find it nice how they always wear white when they're doing official stuff together; hence, "Pure Boys" ^_~
