here i am

I moved down to Arizona a couple weeks ago. I started my job on Monday. I work in a large room with about 20 cubicles. About seven of them are occupied. This last week since there was a holiday, there were an average of three people in there are a given time, including myself. It's strange. I don't know if I like it. The room is a 'holding cell' for people while they await clearance. So, I'll be there for three or so months. Most of the other new hires are in another building while they wait, but they are all together so they can socialize and have fun and the such.

I'm almost all moved into my apartment. I keep on finding things wrong with it. The deadbolt on the balcony wouldn't lock when the door was closed. The A/C wouldn't cool anything beyond 85 degrees, usually 90. The microwave doesn't heat anything. I got a lemon of an apartment. Fortunately the management is decent. So far everything has been fixed soon after I complain.

I finally had to buy a car. I wanted a Civic, Accord or a Mazda3 5-door. Something slightly used. Apparently Mazda3s and Civic are too popular in that a 2005 is practically the same price of an '07, which defeats the purpose of buying a used car to get a depreciated price, and Accords I decided were out of my price range for what I wanted to spend on my first car. I decided I didn't want to bother higher car payments.

I ended up with a used 2007 Scion tc for well below the KBB value. I found it while apartment hunting. It was for sale in the lot in front or a unit I was looking at. Apparently, the guy bought it for his fiance and well he was selling it... So far the car has been good to me and I like it well enough, though there are some little things about it that bother me.
