Apparently my id is controlling what I watch these days. I saw season one of The Vampire Diaries at my library and I checked it out 'cause why not? I needed something to watch and I caught the first episode way back when it started and it didn't totally suck. And now I am hooked. Seriously, what they hell? My brain is being silly. But the VD (I didn't realize until I typed this out that the acronym for Vampire Diaries is also a sexually transmitted disease. Awkward.) is addictive like a soap opera. There is so much ~drama and a horrible cliff-hanger at the end of every episode that makes you want to watch the next one right away.
I think my brain just enjoys mindless television. First My Little Pony now VD (sorry, it makes me snicker, I'm 12 inside). I don't even really like vampires that much anymore. I get addicted to the weirdest things.
I was thinking about reading the books, but I heard they suck.
So yeah, I'm probably going to end up blowing some money on amazon because I'm too impatient to wait for season 2 to come out on DVD. But for now, I'm watching season 5 of Doctor Who and getting excited for the first ep of the new season this weekend. (Did anybody else hear that they were going to separate season 6 into a part 1 and 2?)
This has been your random tv update. Anybody else addicted to something ridiculous/soap-opera-y/id-catering?
