Questions Meme

storybox brought a meme to my attention:

- Leave a comment saying "AYE SALSA!"
- I'll ask you five questions to satisfy my curiosity.
- Update your journal with the answers to your questions.
- Include this explanation and offer to ask other people questions.

She gave me these questions:

01. What movie could you watch on repeat for 24 hours?
Um, I guess I'd watch Bringing Up Baby with Katherine Hepburn and Cary Grant. It's soo adorable and funny I don't think I'd mind watching it for 24 hours. I mean, it's Hepburn and Grant trying to deliver a leopard (appropriate icon is appropriate) and having hilarious hijinx along the way. What's not to love?

02. If you knew you'd be successful no matter what, what would you want to be?
An author. I love to write and if this was a guarantee of success, that's even better. I suppose my second option would be an editor at a publishing company, because I love to edit people's writing and see what works and what doesn't and try to make it better.

03. What is your favorite decade and why?
Favorite decade... I'd have to go with the 1920's. The 20's had prohibition and speakeasy's and gangsters. It sounds like a great time to be alive, when people were throwing lavish parties and they didn't have a care in the world (granted, this attitude lead to the Depression, which was very much not good, but I bet it was a great time while it lasted).

04. Who is the biggest inspiration in your life?
Um, my parent's, I guess?  It sounds like a cheesy answer, but I've never really looked up to any famous people that I can remember. I've supported their causes or found them interesting, amusing, or noble, but I don't think I ever picked one and said, 'this is who I want to grow up to be'. In that case, I think my parents have had a lot to do with who am and influenced a lot of the things I do.

05. If LiveJournal didn't exist, do you think you'd still write in a (regular) journal? Would your life be different?
I probably wouldn't keep a journal on paper; I'm not very good with keeping up with those. My life would be very different. I only really discovered fan culture, LJ, and fanfic about three years ago when I was in high school. Reading people's meta and fic and belonging to a group that thinks like I do about tv shows and important issues (gay marriage, race, etc) is extremely important to me and shaped who I am as a person now. Also, I probably would still be in the dark about my bisexuality. We live in a very heteronormative society and it took copious amounts of slash and femslash to hit me on the head with a clue bat.
