Brace yourselves. Tons of questions ahead.

Hay guys. It's been a while. (Well, I guess I've never actually posted here, but. That said, I'm Xel. :B Hi there.)

Now. I've got this fanfic on the horizon. I can't talk about it TOO much since I'm not super sure what I'm going to do with it ultimately, but that's where you guys come in! :D

The following is a number of massive questions with probably equally as massive and impossible-to-know answers (along with my own ramblings as I go, most likely). That's good, that's fine, that means I can just puzzle them out in the fic. But if I'm missing something important in the canon, or if there was ever any Japan-only information that I am presently unaware of, I would like to know about it. :O

Hoo boy. Okay, where to start.

1) It was said once in xenosaga that it was officially stated that the number of prior cycles or versions of the universe was relatively significant. Could have been ten or one hundred, but there were plenty. I totally believe this, but if anyone could get me a quote on that from where it came from, I would be much obliged. :O

2) What do you suppose is the relationship between Yeshua/Maria/Wilhelm and U-DO? Surely there IS one, right? U-DO's importance as the big baddie was severely downgraded in XSIII, and so I'm hoping to reconcile that on my own. Is it possible that U-DO's interference-- it's said that he was attempting to push into the Lower Dimension and thus threatening its stability, yes?-- has everything to do with the universe's impending dissipation?

3) Relating to the question above, why on earth did Maria initially help build Zarathustra in order to "invade" the realm of God? We can assume that God is U-DO, right? In which case... is it feasible that Wilhelm (being the leader in preserving the universe among the three, I presume) was dedicated to interfering with U-DO's actions even back then?

4) What became of Maria and Yeshua after her and his/Jesus's respective deaths? Could Maria have really stayed out of (physical) commission until awakening in KOS-MOS? What about chaos? I wonder when it was that he returned to a physical body after Jesus's death, or if he did. (This isn't answerable for sure, obviously, but I'm just speculating for my own sake here.)

5) They're never extraodinarily clear about Maria/the Animus's purpose, beyond her being Yeshua/Anima's "partner." His other half, his complement. But surely the two are opposite but equal, right? So as chaos has this huge failsafe function, what is Maria's, at its most fundamental level? Activate Zarathustra? But she's probably had that role prior to Zarathustra's construction. Besides, Wilhelm's already got that covered, doesn't he?

6) What the bleeding hell do you think the database was trying to say about the concept of heat death as it applies to Xenosaga as a whole? XD; I know the explanation that Helmer provides, but it still seems so nebulous to me.

7) Do we ever know for certain what first set the universe on the path of destruction? I always got the impression that it was the result of some irretractable transgression on the part of something, be it U-DO or thanks to human actions (though I also believed for one reason or another that the universe's end had already been a very real threat even before mankind was born). But could it be a natural process, like heat death presumably is? If so, why is chaos needed? Once more, what is Maria's role there?

8) Not a question, but any notable into on chaos, Wilhelm, Maria, and their relationships to one another from any sources outside of the three main games (so like from Pied Piper, I&II, and of that) will be rewarded with my unending gratitude. :O

*flail* Aaaand I think I'm done.

Plz plz plz help me if you can. Even your own personal interpretations would be helpful.
