So I was in the Sunday Express today!
You can read the article here online. I'm pretty happy with it. I wanted her to include much more of my opinion on how to improve mental health services but she was obviously limited with how much she could fit in.
When I say at the end there should be specialist services for young people, obviously that exists to a certain extent in the UK as the child and adolescent mental health services. But those services stop at age 18, and in some areas age 16, then you're sent straight to adult services. If you need to be on a psychiatric ward then that often means being put on mixed sex wards with severely ill patients with an average age of 40 or 50. I think there should be a special bridging service for 16-25 year olds including inpatient services.
