Officially over, in the sense, that my results are out and Sem 1 has nothing to pull me back, because I passed everything! Rejoice! :D
Sociology - B
Life Science - B
Physiology - C+
Anatomy - C+
Foundations in Physiotherapy - C+
Might not look fantastic, as is with all my results since Secondary school, but I can tell you I've worked fucking hard for it already. Considering a glitch in my Sociology presentation, a B is satisfactory for me. Life Science.. Maybe I expected better, but that's just an elective, so.. don't care.
I seriously thought I'd screw up my Anatomy end sem paper, but I suppose my Biomechanics 20% pulled me up. C+ was good considering I thought I'd fail. Physiology is -sighs in relief-. And foundations in Physiotherapy. Since I had like 2 D's in my practicals, which made up altogether, 40% of this result, I guess my end sem's paper's not bad lah hor, or maybe my presentation pulled my results up.
But nevermind, I'm just really pleased that I don't need to take subpaper.
NYP's calculated our GPA for us and mine's ~2.5, which kinda suck balls, according to my mom, of course, not in those exact words. I was quite disappointed in her response actually. I was actually so happy with my results, I picked up my phone and called her immediately, and the conversation went something like,
Me: I got my results already!
Mom: So how?
Me: I didn't fail!
Mom: So what're your grades?
Me: Not very good lah actually.
Mom: Like what? D?
Me: No. *proceeds to relay grades
Mom: Mm okay lor, keep it up.
Me: But I don't know how to calculate GPA... *notices GPA already at the top of the result slip* Oh they help us calculate already.
Mom: What's your GPA then?
Me: 2.5
Mom: Huh! That's lousy!
I thought getting my current result was kinda expected, so I don't know what she want from me exactly. Maybe she wanted a GPA of 3.0, and that'd mean straight B's for everything. I also want, but I'm reasonable. Like, how much difference will the end sem papers do to my result anyway? If my mom continues to snub my result, I'm gonna erupt and tell her to take the course.
I don't like it when my parents are so discouraging, especially when I know I've done my best.
