It hadn't been the greatest weekend ever for Marie. She had said goodbye to Jamie for the summer, watched a lot of her friends graduate and then watched the school get blown up. All in all, she was kind of looking forward to spending the next couple of months away from Fandom. Though she would definitely miss her friends

Conner had gotten Marie's email when he got back to his room after the day's festivities, and decided that a visit was definitely in order.

"You're coming back, right?" he asked almost plaintively as he poked his head in through the doorway.

"Yes," Marie replied. "In July. Will you still be here?"

Conner grimaced. "I miiiiiiiiiight be. Right now it's looking like I'm gonna have to be home mid-summer if I'm going to get my soccer camp off the ground."

Marie frowned. "Well... we can always visit, right?"

[connernotconnor]

"Dude, totally," Conner said immediately. "Any time you're up for some California weather, you're so welcome in Reefside. My brother and parents spend a lot of time traveling, so you'll have a place to crash."

"That would be cool," Marie said. "And you'll be back for Homecoming and stuff," she pointed out.

"I wouldn't miss it," Conner promised. "A place like this, where I don't have to worry about keeping my powers under wraps? I'll be back every chance I can get. Besides, somebody's gotta keep an eye on Bridge and Z, make sure the future of Ranger history is looking bright. Sorry to say you won't get rid of me that easily."

"Darn," Marie said. "Well, maybe we can go to Luke's and I can dump a banana split on you for old time's sake."

Conner burst out laughing. "Or hey, you could come visit me in Reefside and do that at the Cyberspace. Hayley'd get a huge kick out of it. And Cassidy Cornell'll probably get it on film for you."

"'Course, Gwynn might stab me this time," Marie teased.

"Oh, geez," groaned Conner. "Yeah, let's try and avoid that, huh? Oh crap -- didn't Willow say on the radio last night that she ran into Kira? I am so dead."

"Kira is your friend from home, right? The one that lives in New York now?" Marie asked.

Conner nodded. "Looks kind of like Gwynn, yeah. Not an exact duplicate, but close?"

It took a minute for the implications of those words to sink in, but when they did, Marie couldn't help but giggle. "Oh, boy, you are definitely in trouble."

"Uh huh," Conner said with a wince. "Man, oh, man, am I glad Kira can't Ptera-Scream any more."

"Can't... what?" Marie asked.
