What's left is a flowered box sitting pretty, and alone, in front of his mirror, so he puts his palms to the side of his head, stretches the skin back and then exhales. Zac hides it under his sink and he means to give it back to her when he gets the chance.
Eventually he realizes he won't get the chance. The jewelry box stays hidden behind the cupboard door, and Zac tries not to bite his lip too hard when he wonders if she left it behind on purpose because everything left inside is something he'd bought for her
