The chill of the City has tapered off into a bearable nip in the air--although to some, it still may feel rather cold. The clouds have returned and blanket the City in a somewhat refreshing mist every so often, and the air has become dry, cool and open, giving rise to slight, low fogs in the mornings and a rushing sound of silence.
The climate itself has finally lost its oppressiveness and seems akin to a quiet mourning; a cleansing of sorts, where the flora return to life and blossom timidly or change their colors and begin to dispel their leaves in soft flurries of brilliant, warm color. The overall atmosphere is one of steady, soft spoken thought; contemplative, brooding and, in a sense, healing.
Although a little dreary, the City seems--for the moment--at peace. It might not last long, so enjoy it while you're able.
There is something about that misty rain, though you may not notice it at first. In fact, you might be completely unaware for days.
Along with the weather change, the smell of blood begins to waft in batches. As you go about your business, you may--not frequently--happen upon the distinct, iron-like odor. It will pass away quickly, however, leaving you wondering curiously before you continue on your way.
