Originally uploaded by untao got tagged by vandyke_brown a couple of weeks back. am currently sitting here, smoking a guantanamera in the fluffy pink robe and tigerpaw slippers. bored and restless, so i'm doing it.
the deal is that i'm supposed to list 6 things that recently made me happy. i don't tend to do things in sixes, so i'll do five.
1. now. sitting here in a drafty silent room, huddled in a warm blanket of superplush robey goodness. getting myself a little dizzy on cigar smoke.
2. Trev meeting me @ work for lunch yesterday, on a whim, and taking me for indian food in a light rain. the naan was the perfect naan. and T is just ... he remains my favourite dinner partner, hands down.
3. the adventure of wearing my complete transformable robot flight suit on a bus, the subway, a streetcar and a few blocks of walking. i got in everyone's way, but was openly worshipped by a collection of geeks and those of geekish inclination. in retrospect, there may also have been a few people just in it for the miniskirt.
4. seeing ardently and hindrew with their new daughter, allowing themselves to act as gushy and in love as they all secretly were, despite their individual non-mushy facades.
5. walking in the ravine with trev just before dinner time. wind blowing leaves into flurries on the ground. post-rain brightness of the colours against the dark wet bark of the trees. he held my hand and i folded the end of my uber-long sleeve over our hands, and the sleeve-mitten of sleeves +10, with a cold resistance of 20%, was born. like those cheesy mittens-for-two mittens, but practical and easy to do with the materials on hand, if the materials on hand happen to be a shirt with obscenely long sleeves (the best kind, anyway.)
