home sweet home
well im home! got back yesterday at 2ish l.a. time. hmmm let me start off from my last entry...ok so i guess that was friday then ok heres friday: me and my mom got up and took the metro up to Montmartre to do a walking tour from one of our books. it started at the moulin rouge. if youve seen moulin rouge the movie, its nothing like that. as my mom said its like a vegas type night club for like japanese tourist or something. then we headed up towards the old cemetery and then did some more walking around. then we started hitting the touristy areas and so we stopped for lunch and it started raining so that was good that we had stopped. then we walked by to sacre coeur for a nice view of paris. then we headed to the notre dame. it was open to walk up the bell towers so i waited in line for 40 minutes and then, all by myself, walked up the towers and across to the other tower, took lots of photos, and then walked all the way back down. i think i walked about 400 steps and it took me about 45 minutes. it was really tiring but it was worth it. its soo high up and the views are great. i could even see my mom sitting in the square below reading. it was really cool. so then after my little adventure we headed back to our hotel to rest for a while. then about an hour later we went to the hard rock cafe near montmartre. sorry to say this but the food there really wasnt that great. but oh well we still had a good time. we spent a lot of money inthe gift shop and i got a shirt and my mom got a bunch of stuff for people. so that was friday our last full day in paris. now saturday: i really wanted to do the catacombes so my mom agreed and we went there. so we get there and we have to wait in line for a bit cause they werent open yet even though one of our books said it was but anyhow we got in and u have to walk like 100 steps down or somthing like that and then u walk through this looooong tunnel untill u reach walls covered in bones! literally stacked human bones! it was awsome! my mom was kinda freaked out but i liked it haha. so u just walked forever with the walls just being stacked with bones. then at the end u have walk back up 83 steps to the exit. so taht was fun and all but after was when it kinda went down hill. the exit was nowhere near the entry. my mom and i had no idea where we were. and since we had the bad map we were lost to we started headed somewhere where we thought there might be a metro station but we were heading the wrong direction and we ended up walking for a looong time but we fianlly found a station and got on the metro and went to this big shopping place called the la samaritaine. we spent alot of time there. my mom bought a lot of gifts for people and then we went to the rooftop cafe place to get some food. i got this yummy toasted ham and cheese sandwich which is kinda popular i guess and then a bottle of coke for me and a bottle of diet coke for my mom. what my mom didnt realize till she was paying was that one bottle of soda was 6 euro! it was crazy. we've never spent that much for soda in our lives. so after that we went back to our hotel and got our stuf and checked out and headed for the airport to fly back to dublin. so after our 1 and a half hour flight we get to dublin and get the baggage we left at the left luggage and go to the holiday inn for the night. we didnt eat well on the plane so we went to the little chinese restaurant and the food there was really good. so then we went back to the room and i went to bed on a fluffy down pillow! and my mom repacked some stuff. then in the morning on sunday: we checked out and went to the airport [which was like 5 minutes away] and chekced our luggage and then did more shopping around then we got on the plane and it was really nice. it was one of the newer planes and it had little mini tvs screens on the back of every seat! it was really cool and they had all these movies playing and games on it too and even a map to show u where the plane was at the exact moment. it was an 11 hour flight and i ended up watching 4 movies, mean girls, day after tomorrow, new york minute and down with love. id seen all those movies except day after tomorrow which was ok. the only downfall of the whole flight was that there was this couple who right after the plane took off, got in the empty seats in front of me and my mom and then put their seats allll the way back so the little screen was like 2 inches from my face. they pretty much kept their seats that way for the whole trip. oh well. we finally got back to l.a. and my dad and megan where there and we drove home in my grandpas saturn vue. me and my mom are happy to be home and are still adjusting to the time change. i went to the ortho today and my final check is in four weeks so im really happy bout that! hopefully these stupid braces will be off soon! well i know once again i typed alot but these few entries bout my trip are mainly for me to look back on. so thats it for now.
