I'm glad Victor and I had a very calm Christmas. I don't think I would've had the energy for that New Years party, otherwise! I'm not sure what time Victor and I wound up leaving Pete and Stitch's, but it had to be around three am. That's far past my usual bedtime. ;)
It was quite a fun party, though! I'm glad I was able to ring in 2013 with all of you, and Richmond it was nice getting more of a chance to talk to you.
Victor and I reopen the gallery on Monday, so we're enjoying our final week off for the holidays. I know most people have already gone back to work, so we're very lucky to be able to make our own hours.
Victor got me a molecular gastronomy kit and cookbook for Christmas and I've been experimenting with different dishes, since I've had so much time on my hands. I made these for hors d'oeuvres last night.
Beetroot macarons with duck, duck liver pâté, and beetroot jelly. I thought they were delicious, though I think Victor was slightly dismayed to realise I'd made savoury macarons instead of sweet. I've promised him I'll make the normal sort this weekend.
