Victor and I had a very nice jubilee weekend. The bank holiday on monday was especially appreciated, because we've finally set an opening date for the gallery, so we've been working quite a bit to get everything prepared in time. Or at least, I have. I'm half convinced that Victor thinks we're going to be visited by some kind of gallery opening fairy who will sort all the specifics for us, because he just keeps assuring me that things will work out alright.
I've contacted a few newspapers and local magazines, I'm hoping to drum up some interest for the opening and get a bit of press attention so people will actually show up. We're holding it the evening of the 29th, though proper invitations will be sent out to everyone. We'll have the bar up and running, so please come and drink and look at our art. Feel free to bring people who might want to buy something.
My birthday happens to fall two days before the opening, which I've already been informed is not a good enough excuse to get out of celebrating it this year. Perhaps the weekend before, Victor and I will just go to Versailles to see my parents. That'd be rather low-key, at least.
Also speaking of the jubilee earlier,
this is quite a nice piece of art from it.
