[This is...

Noel isn't... even human? Leo quite honestly has no idea whatsoever to think about that. It's so... surreal somehow, to know there are others who are... different, maybe he should say, just like him. It's... really strange.

He almost feels a little numb, thinking about it and trying to work out how to feel about this.

So perhaps he should just... check on her, and leave that for later. Or never think about it again.]

Noel?

[Not human at all. That completely explained just why there was a girl running around with Noel's face... Because Noel is just another copy. Just another puppet created for some purpose. Hers being to destroy everything alive in her own world.

It's obvious how much mental damage this revelation had done to Noel when she turns to glance down at the Dreamberry. It's almost as if she lost her very soul. It only takes a few minutes to recognize the person on the other line... It's only been a week, after all.]

... Ever since that time, I knew there was something wrong with me... But I always tried to run away from that fact. Though now... I can't do that anymore.

[Her hands go up to cover her face as she tries to hold back sobs.]

I'm sorry, Leo... I'm so sorry...

[This is almost some weird sense of deja vu. Because isn't that exactly what Leo has done a lot? And then apologising like that...

Like Elliot thinks he apologises needlessly.

It's really kind of weirdly familiar. He doesn't like it.]

For what?

[Even in normal circumstances, she probably apologized way more than he did.

Though Leo has every right not to like the currently situation, because it really is terrible. After all, the mild-mannered girl who tried so hard to befriend him turned out to not be human. Even worse, she had become her world's enemy.

Noel attempts to explain herself, despite all the crying she's doing.]

If I... If only I knew that I was so dangerous, I... I wouldn't have gotten so close to you and Elliot...

[If anyone hurts Elliot, it doesn't matter how much Leo cares for them, how close he is to them. None of that would matter. Generally, he would consider a threat something to get rid of immediately, all for Elliot's sake. But this is where he hesitates.

She hasn't even been close to doing anything. She has done far less than he has. As far as he can see, she hasn't hurt Elliot one bit, different from him. If going by that definition, he should have gotten rid of himself a long time ago, but he's too selfish for it. He wants to stay too bad for it. He uses the excuse that Elliot wouldn't want him to, but that shouldn't matter.

Just as long as Elliot is safe.

But he can't bring himself to want to kill Noel.]

You've never hurt him.

[Never, ever. She's worth far more than him...]

You're not any more dangerous than I am.

[Right. "Noel" would never do anything to hurt Elliot intentionally. He's that important to her. However, while "Noel" may not be dangerous... "Mu" is. There was no mistaking what Noel had felt in the few seconds she was reborn as the Godslaying Sword: The overwhelming desire to see everything in the world die by her own hands. It was frightening that she was even capable of that.

And Leo thought he was the strange one? Being "strange" would be much more preferable to being a complete monster. An abomination. Without the deadly purpose she had been given, Noel would be nothing but a piece of subhuman trash. At least Leo is human, which made him worth far more than a puppet like her.

So why? Why does he refuse to believe that she's something so terrible? Noel didn't understand.]

But... What if I... What if I become that again? I'm scared that I might change back...

[In reality, Leo has no idea whatsoever of how to deal with this. He's not one who comforts people over things he doesn't know anything about. Orphans are easy, Elliot is easy, but he doesn't know how to reassure Noel. He's not really sure why he wants to.

Maybe she should just stay away, but Elliot... Elliot would never want her to.

What is the reason for her not being "that" now, though? He thinks there must be something to it.]

Elliot would say that it's your choice and no one else's. I think... it happened during a moment of weakness, didn't it? Nothing says you can't control it.

Control it---

[When Noel hears and repeats those words, she recalls something in the back of her mind. At the time, she had too much on her mind to actually listen to what Terumi had told her as he began the tempering process, but now... What was it again?

"Wave goodbye to your limiter, Noel!"

Her limiter? Come to think of it, why is she still 'Noel' instead of 'Mu'? Shouldn't she have been brought here in the same state as she was in her own world? Think... Why is she able to cry, worry, and express fear, instead of having nothing in her head except anger and contempt?

"Oh, and those toys of yours... Sad little Bolverk? They were limiters placed to keep your emotions from going batshit insane!"That's right! Bolverk! Did she have Bolverk with her? Almost frantically, Noel lowers her hands from her face and attempts to summon the pair of guns into them. She is immediately surprised when she feels the cool metal of her weapons materialize into her hands in a flash of gold light. Bolverk... She had Bolverk. Noel's hands began to ( ... )

Then don't worry.

[At least Noel knows what it's all about, and she knows that she doesn't need to fear losing control of herself. It's different from him; he has no idea what it all is and he fears it will be honestly dangerous and hurt Elliot in particular but really just anyone he cares for, and it can, he really fears it can.

At least she knows everything and while that might also just feed the worry, at least it removes the fear of things being unknown.

He hates when things are unknown.]

You won't hurt anyone.

[He wishes he could control everything weird about him. Maybe he wouldn't hurt people then.]
