Kitty Illness
So Chunky is doing ok. He's got a lot of problems it turns out, but he doesn't seem to be in pain and is acting his usual self.
It turns out the poor guy has an enlarged heart (Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, for you medical types), kidney stones which haven't responded to ultra sound, and they think a bacterial infection that they just can't culture.
So we've got him on some meds for the heart condition and Amox/clav twice a day for the mystery infection. The antibiotics are a real problem since they're nasty enough that we have to make sure he's eaten recently before we dose him. Otherwise he'll just puke it up.
Despite all that he's still friendly and purring and acting his old self. I'm just hoping it stays that way for a while.
