OMG, I love this so, so much. It's so beautiful and there's this undercurrent of sadness to watching them come together. I love this bit:

That night's the first. Two months later and they've started holding hands in public. Just to spite Miles, he and Juliet set up house in three.

This sense of camaraderie this implies makes me incredibly happy. And then this: Cabin fever. Island fever. Whatever. He orders funny books for her on purpose because he likes the way the empty rooms echo when she laughs.

oh my god I can't believe you wrote this! What a lovely surprise right before I go to bed! I thought you tried to avoid Sawyer at any cost! What muse took hold of you and can they stay around longer!? But this is perfect, just perfect. Very honest and true to who these two were, both together and as individuals, and I am just obsessed with his observations on her in this. Especially He orders funny books for her on purpose because he likes the way the empty rooms echo when she laughs. because YES, canon, I could see it so clearly and I think I read it four times I loved it so much.
