Harry and Charlie and...
Just finished Harry Potter. Wow. Still trying to absorb it all... I really don't think that I can wait until the next one comes out. ah, well, in the meantime i'm looking forward to the Goblet of Fire movie. I feel Harry Potter deprived... i think I'm going to reread HBP now and try to figure some loose ends. To people who have read it: "prince" at the end.. good or bad? i'm not so sure, which i think is the most intruiging part of it all. And i think Ginny is turning into one of the favorite characters. ... i think the major thing lacking in this book was Snuffles.. =(
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory... a little disappointing, I must say. There was just no... mystery to it. it just seemed like pure mindless entertainment. it actually sort of bothered me. and the way wonka was written, he was just so flat. he had his bit, but then it got old quickly and never once did he become real. All the characters were so surreal that the whole story seemed SO incredibly unbelievable, whereas, with the original film, while the whole movie was a little surreal, it was still very believable since the characters were more real.. in the end. Visually, though, it was stunning. I love Tim Burton for that.
*sigh* I miss JMV.. aka MV.. but that's not what my rings says. argh. 'till saturday, i suppose...
