The campus looks pretty now, with the blossoming trees and buds unfolding, with the sun out and some green ground and blue sky visible. The past weekend was simple but beautiful, even though there was rain on Saturday. It wasn't cold rain. I miss the smell of damp ivy and pine right after rain, but I suppose I'll have it soon enough again.
Patience is a hard lesson to learn in days like these with so much ahead and behind. How does one balance and regulate themselves to focus on the surroundings that are so worth appreciating? The past and future collide into this continual moment, but some moments need to end. This passage, with an aestheticism to memories formed from each day, happens without forgiveness. The world is merciful and cruel under the spring showers.
