Taking Credit where Credit is not due...

Dear Live Journal,

I have an amazingly talented son, he composes music, plays piano and is a vocalist. He recently composed a beautiful piece of music, orchestrating guitar, trumpet, drums and strings. He sang and played the piano. The piece is about "depresson" inspired by young teenage angst.
I had videoed the performance, but did not post as he asked me to wait until he had recorded and dropped the song on Song Cloud. Imagine my surprise to find the piece uploaded to a media website by someone who may or may not have been feeling the need to take some measure of credit for this child and his artistry.
To further rub salt in the open and oozing wound family of my child's begin to "like" or comment on the piece. Strangers who I have never met give accolades to the parent's of this child, ouch!
To be clear, I have nurtured this child's talent since he was three years old, I have not been perfect and have done things I am not proud of, but my son is who is due to his Grandmother, an Opera Singer who spent days upon end assisting and aiding my son with his music. Additionally, Sal, Thaddeus and Uncle Jim contributed to his coaching and musical prowess.

Any one of the people could have posted the video without raising my ire, but they didn't because they respected my son's request to "please wait."

I will say, I'm saddened that anyone would "seemingly" attempt to fulfill their own need for recognition vicariously through, "MY SON'S" talent and accomplishment.

With this said, I step down from my Soap Box take a bow and say it is time to let this all go....

Words from a proud and ever protective MOTHER...
