I have just counted and I have 104 pages of notes for Coming Apart pt 3.
I think I preferred it when I just started at the beginning of a story and made it up as I went until it was finished. I am now looking at all these bits of paper (a4, a5, bits ripped out of notebooks, all piled up together, lots of it the same scenes written slightly different ways, the bits written on bumpy Bulgarian trains unreadable even by me) and wondering if I actually have the energy to write it now. But if I don't start now I'll never want to plough through this lot afresh later.
I am far too busy for this, but it won't go away till it's done so I guess I ought to stop writing journal entries and actually start putting something on file. It's starting to feel uncomfortably like writing essays. I like writing little scenes on scraps of paper. I'm not so sure about lengthy structured end products. But when it's done then the whole I/G./J saga is finished and that will be good.
