video | open to action...sort ofIn the middle of a bright summer sunshiny spot in Xanadu, surrounded by flowers and a ring of trees is a statue made of ivory cream stone. The figure is a long haired man resting on his knees. If anyone looks closely they might see evidence of an entry wound and an exit wound carved onto his torso. Still, he hears ( Read more... )

[Unlike everyone else, Huey isn't trying to desecrate the statue of Nuada via graffitti or theivery. The boy just stands in front of the statue with his arms crossed with a trademark sullen expression on his face.]

...was it all worth it in the end? I told you, your resentment would lead to pain and ruin for everyone involved.

[Being a statue there's no response for Huey, and in a way this works to Nuada's advantage. He won't have to concede defeat in their war of principles, at least not for now.

However, if Huey is attentive, something is chittering behind the statue, nestled in the grass between stone ankles.]

[And attentive he his. Just as he's about to leave for the dates he'd been sold into, Huey turns around as he hears the noise. Curiously he leans forward and begins to move his hands through the vegetation.]

[Chitter chitter chitter. The multi-legged little blue-green creature skitters as fast as it can over Huey's hand to hid behind Nuada's stone leg. It peeks out though, because this fairy doesn't know better.]

What the hell?

[Huey's gonna take a step back in shock because he recognizes the creature as one of those little monsters that were running amok during one curse.]

You have got to be kidding me.

[Would this face lie to you, Huey? It chitters a bit again, looking at the fuzzy-haired child with some apprehension before very slowly, leg-by-leg, walking out of its hiding place. It wasn't much of a hiding place to begin with. Then it begins pointing at the statue then pointing at itself, the statue, itself, the statue, itself, chitter chitter, where's a translator when you need it.]

[He looks at the fairy as it continues to chatter on and on as he begins to get somewhat of an idea of what it was trying to say.]

You belonged to Nuada, didn't you?

[A tilt of its head then several nods confirms this. Next it rubs its hands over its stomach before frowning. This ought to be a universal sign.]

And you're hungry.

[Great so now he had a hungry fairy on his hands. Sadly he didn't know exactly what it was that the creature would eat. The only thing he had on him being a pack of gum and a hard candy.]

Unless you eat candy, I don't think I have anything that you could eat.

Mrr?

[There's that sound followed by a sniff at the mention of candy. And if it's hard, maybe it's kind of like a tooth? Never know until one tries.]

[Seeing the creature's interest or at least what he thought was its interest, Huey took out the butterscotch candy in his pocket and unwrapped it.]

Here.

[He holds the sweet out for the fairy to take.]

[First there is skepticism. Then there is a mild expression of hope. Then the fairy just takes that butterscotch and starts gnawing away.

For the record, it takes only seconds for the candy to be consumed but hey, at least it's filling!]

Well, at least you're not as vicious as the other ones like you.

[And he plops down on the ground.]

I don't know if Nuada is coming back from...well this is the first time that I even saw somebody turned into a statue and you don't look like you'll last long on your own...especially if some caught the attention of some crazy scientist.

[He's not as big as the others either. Possibly a runt. Chitter chitter chatter. There's some understanding here for the statue beside them and a small awareness that the prince may not return. Therefore the fairy skitters onto Huey's knee. The smile it makes, in its attempt to be doe-eyed, says: Take me home?]

...[Yeah, he's pausing and looking more than confused as he begins to place the actions of the creature on par with a certain little robot that tended to show up around him at any given moment.]

If you cause any trouble I'm handing you over to Joshua. [Huey scoops up the fairy and sets it on his shoulder before standing. He still had to find Meredy and the girl would provide a good distraction from the scene he saw of the person he had actually come to fully respect, even if he had disagreed with his ideology.]

[Fairy vs. Scorpion thing doesn't sound pretty at all, but it doesn't know any better. Another chitter follows a shake of its head. It does know on instinct alone Huey did not come to harm Nuada, and by that virtue, maybe he won't come to harm it either.]
