No news is good news.

In the life front Nothing is new.

I do have a small pumpkin thanks to Brandon.

I made a blue lion from the simple puppet pattern I've been working on. The lack of generally constructive things I've to do with my days lead me to feel as if I should kick some serious puppet butt with all my down time. Now this blue lion is cute, but not so cute that I'm in love with him... or even think him cool enough to try and sell on Etsy. I might try just for kicks but that will remain to be seen.

My plan with this puppet pattern I've been working on is to have the ability to make puppets quickly, the really basic puppets, similar to the many different background puppets that can be found in the Muppet shows. If I can knock out the head peice and fur coverings quickly then details can have more time than normal. And of course that would drop any price-ing that I might do.

That being said, I am making a list of animals as prospective puppets for the more complicated designs. Right now the list is only three animals long, but that's pretty good seeing as each puppet takes about 5-7 days of concentrated time to build. And since I'm having issues concentrating these days it might make things .... well I don't know what i'll make them, just that they'll be there sitting on my mind taunting me.

Sesame St yesterday was really entertaining. One of my new favorite puppets is Horatio, the elephant. As he moves around the camera shakes, you know cause he's huge. Kinda of unfortunate that he's one of those people wearing the suit and puppet head puppets but I still really like him. The first half of the show had so many puppets on it that I was really surprised. The computer animated segments were fewer and further between than normal. The actors are different, to be expected I suppose, I remember a Rita from my days as a young'n but now there's a different woman (with a nose ring!!) and a dude.

The Library had a earthquake drill not twenty minutes ago. Interesting was the fact that they announced it and the posted signs everywhere created this intense feeling of dread so powerful that the normal partakers of books and free internet were surprisingly NOT present. Very empty was the library. About twenty people stuck around to be herded out of the library and then back in. A group of mothers chuckled about the fact that schools were considering not doing said drill if there was rain.. you know because you can totally reschedule earthquakes and emergencies. The problem with that is the fact that the unexpected generally has a pretty full calendar and you may not be able to get booked for anything right away.

And today's Burbank Word of the Day comes to you from Tortuga by Rudolfo A. Anaya. As I flip through this book looking for an appropriate and interesting word remember that this journal is brought to you by the Pi symbol and Peeps, "They're not just for Easter any more!!" Peep's find them in the candy isle of your local market and make your children gag.
