No more overly cheery elves?

The adventures of Holly and Snowflake just closed today. I let go of it with some reluctance. While I won't miss Clutzo's costume (bright green yellow and red are a strange combination) I will be on a downward slide from the high of spending so much time with those eleven people. Luckily there are offers of reunions and possible future shows both of new material and of the AoHaS.

The last show was performed in Shriner's Children's hospital. They specialize in burns and orthopedics so there were a number of different kids at different stages of being fixed. There were some that had head bandages, others lying in "wheel-barrow" or "redwagon" wheel chairs, some that were even confined to laying on their stomachs. A little boy whose face was half bandaged and what looked like a plastic tube was protruding from his eye. Another girl sat leaning forward a bit as she had some sort of pouch into which red liquid was dripping through a tube attached to her head. The tales of these injuries were left unknown. Funnily enough, even though majority of the kids spoke nothing but spanish, it seemed like for the most part, they got the jist of what was going on before the project organizer actually translated it.

The magic of theatre.

Now I must cram for Dr. Faustus tomorrow. I've got two scenes that I should have memorized, but due to them being moved around it seems unlikely. REPETITION!!

In LIFE NEWS, I got a hair cut. Nothing drastic, just a trim and a rejuvenation of my layers. Fantastic Sam's for the win!!! That is by far my favorite hair place. It's a cut and a wash for $15!!! Sweet deal.

Mervyn's is going out of business, and they seem to be constantly restocking the shelves. I guess they're emptying warehouses, at least that's how it seems here in Riverside. So I got 4 pants and a sweater for $50... which is a total score. Basically $10 apeice.
