surgery

My mom had surgery today on her foot. When i talked with my dad she was not doing well. Apparently she's in a lot of pain and the pain killers aren't doing anything. Codine does not seem to be sucessful in the pain killing department for my family. She was in so much pain that se can't even sleep ad din't want to come on the phone. Which is good cause i would have cried if i could hear the pain in her voice but also bad cause she's in that much pain. Hopefully it'll be fine in a few days. But it's a bit of a big contrast with my dad. He just had a total hip replacement but went to an orthopedic place in orange county and had a wonderful experience. They even listened to him about his reactions to anesthesia and sertian pain killers so he didn't get sick after. And here she went and had a surgery that in riverside with the same person she's been seeing for years and is in sich huge pain. Granted te foot and the hip are very different.

I'm sadder about this than i should be. Maybe. How sad is reasonably sad with regards to family members being in severe pain?
