The words tripping on my tounge taste like candy

I find it very interesting that a lot of people will claim that they can't act and that public speaking freaks them out still do it regularly. I'm basing this on the large amount of presentations which my program requires of it's students.  I'm pretty sure that we have some student presenting everyday of classes.  The first day of classes we were required to get up and present.  Small stuff, but it definitely set the tone for the rest of the semester, and apparently for the rest of the program. Some of the Cohort 6 gals told me that there are super long presentations at some point.

My biggest bit of proof is our group lead activities which have been going on in Interactive Reasoning class for the past few weeks.  The Group leads are really about the person who is leading, that's who is being graded, but there are always 4 group members pulled out of the class who basically end up doing Improv as they go through the persons activity.  Our teacher pulls the volunteer students out of the class and give them directions as to how they should act and lets them go wild. This is done so that the group leader has some challenges that they have to face with regards to controlling the group.

There was one Group Lead, led by Delilah, where one of the kids (played by Erica) had the constant desire to touch someone else.  So she needed some sort of sensory stimulation I guess.  She spent the entire time during the Group Lead leaning against, hugging, and attached to whomever the closest person was.  Highly entertaining, watching her mold to the people around her. At some point Erica was hugging Delilah.  And Delilah, who needed to move around kept having to tell Erica to let go.  but she didn't just say that, instead she kept using the phrase, "I need my body back please." Which I found very interesting and will hope to use if I ever run into that.  Also the phrase "Be safe with our bodies." al la Marieanne is pretty awesome.

I myself don't even like Improv.  I prefer to have it be scripted to at least base my thoughts off of.  But for some reason this is both fun, and pretty easy. Often times, they're really funny too. So far we've gone through the Peds/adolecents.  I'm intrigued to see if the adult/gero are as entertaining.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that I'm really impressed with majority of my class mates willingness to volunteer let alone actually get into "character" to some extent.
