September 6th
So after Dino Day... T.H.E.G.U.Y.S were all set to head out to the LA County fair for the $1 entrance day. The plan was put into action by Holty. A group of them were going to meet at my place, pile into one car and then head off to Pamona.
When they get there, Jason and Michael are sitting outside my house and apparently Victor and Sharron are not going to make it for some unknown reason. It's worrisome but I'm told they sou8nded fine on the phone so it probably wasn't life threatening.
In my original plan I wasn't going to go to the fair, stuff to do and a Labor Day party later that day. But Jason want's to scrap the plan. Michael wants to go. I tell them that I can go but I have to be back in time for the party. A deal is made, leaving by 4pm will get me back in time for the party and still leave time for fun stuff.
The LA County Fair was something that I've never experienced before. People everywhere. There's games, and rides, food scattered all about the place. Animals and animal by products abounded. We got food and then headed off to the McDonald's Animal and Garden area. The pigs in there are huge. The fly traps worked really well. I got the worst nastiest allergy attack while at the event, something in the hay or the animals... totally killer.
The weirdest thing was seeing an attempted child abduction. I don't really know what happened, cause I was watching a pig lay around but some people behind us are getting loud. Turn around and there's this brown haired woman tugging on the sleeve of a tall blonde guy whose holding a kid. At first all I heard was the guy saying "Let go of my shirt" and "Security" while the woman keeps saying "Let go of him" and "Give me back my child," So they tugg around in a circle, we call security (and apparently there were other people who called as well). When I turn around again the woman id crying, the child is crying.. Somehow she gets the kid from the man and running with the stroller crying about how horrible the day has gotten. The guy stands there for a few seconds before following the lady. She must have seen him coming and just drops the stroller to make it through the crowd. We headed over to one of the booths to find out if the ladies there had a quicker way to contact Security. From there I don't know what happened.
From there we purchased some fantastic Fair Milk and then headed over to the Pig Races. However they were WAY too full of people so we ended up over at the Jungle area with some more exotic animals, like monkeys, and vultures, and kangaroos.
Around that time we had to go so Michale, Jason and I headed out.
The Labor Day Barbaque turned out quite pleasantly. Food, snacks, pies and family-friends. Late in the night, Bryan, my brother from another mother, brought out his DDR set. Apparently he's just recently gotten into ti, missed the boat on that one by a bit. So he bought pads and hooks them up to his computer which is then hooked up to a screen for larger viewing. We hopped around to work off that food which had been eaten.
