and the embers never fade, in the city by the lake

so i suppose that this is it. my entire life has essentially been packed into boxes and has been moved to new orleans. matthew's parents left yesterday with all of our stuff and we're leaving tomorrow morning. the going-away show went pretty well with only a few minor setbacks. nick flaked out for whatever reason and hoffa ended up learning the drum parts to our songs in about half an hour. matthew and i went to zorbas after the show with hoffa and justin and met up with gilbert and some of his friends. jeannie gave me a hug as we were leaving zorbas and it made me cry. dropped justin off at his ladyfriend's apartment and drove home on lake shore drive. i cried most of the way home... the city was absolutely gorgeous last night. i'm going to miss it.

tonight i think we're going to jose's for some ong-bak action and then it's home to bed. we're going to church tomorrow and then leaving right after that. bleh.
