Fred's Dream

Apr 24, 2006 20:08

He’d always wanted to work on trains. At least, that was what he told people, because it was easier than confessing what he’d dreamed of growing up to be. It had broken his heart when his mother had gently explained that magic wasn’t real, that wizards didn’t exist.

He rubbed his eyes until a supernova shined behind his eyelids, and resolved to book an appointment at the opticians. He couldn’t have seen two red-haired boys run through a brick wall; that sort of thing only happened in stories.

That night, he dreamed a familiar dream.

He dreamed of wizards.
