005-[dreamscape] True north...

[Canada is dreaming of his childhood. His early childhood, before he was discovered by other countries. The landscape of this dream is a pine forest covered in snow.  There is still snow falling from the sky, softly, collecting in a thick blanket on the ground. And there is a child. A small blonde boy playing in the snow. His only companion is a ( Read more... )

[Hubb has spent most of his life in hot places, so Canada is a bit different for him. Not that he hasn't been to bitterly cold places, but still.

He sees the boy and the bear, and immediately looks about for the mother bear, but then he realizes this is clearly a dream and such dangers aren't anything to worry about, so he comes closer.]

[The boy and the bear are both happily jumping into large snow drifts. But when Hubb gets close enough that they notice him, Canada stops what he's doing and draws the bear close to him like a security blanket.]

Bonjour...

Bonjour.

[Hubb switches to French as naturally as breathing, although he still has a slight Texan accent.]

Are you alone? Where are your parents?

[He looks confused for a moment.]

Non, I have no parents. It is just me. And him.

[Points to the bear.]

Would you like to play with us?

[He tilts his head]

Who feeds you then?

[He holds his hand out for the bear.]

What are you playing?

[He shrugs.]

There is food.

[He clearly doesn't think too hard about how exactly he's surviving. The important thing is that he is. The baby proves to be quite friendly, nuzzling Hubb's hand hoping for attention.]

Would you like to play hide and seek?

Pretty self-sufficient for a kid.

[He actually smiles]

[Smiles happily, pleased to have another playmate.]

Okay, then Kuma and I will hide. You come and find us. And don't peek!

[Off he goes find a hiding spot. The bear follows, but with a slower, lazier speed that tells you he really doesn't care what the kid is doing and is just kind of going along with it.]

[Hubb will wait for a minute, then look. Looking for tracks in the snow first of all.]

[The bear just trotted off a little ways and buried itself in a snowbank. It's a little hard to tell if its playing hide and seek or just having a nap. The boy is actually disturbingly good at this game. Turning occasionally invisible is extremely helpful when hiding. His tracks lead into the woods though.]

[Hubb will follow. He's an experienced tracker, even if he can't see the mysteriously poofing boy.]
