It all started while I was looking through a box of some of my old stuff. I found a letter. On said letter was a group of cartoon cows playing instruments. They are the Boof Boys. But that's not the important part. The important part is who the letter was from. It was a girl (now a woman) named Marlene. I had formed a strong friendship with her over 20 years ago while on a church excursion to the west coast. While reading the letter, I decided I would try and look her up on myspace, but no luck. So, on a whim, I decided to google her full name. I found several potential matches, but only one that could have possibly been her. Mainly because the word moo appears in her e-mail address. So, I wrote her and mentioned a few things I remembered about her. And she wrote back!! Seems she had been going through some of her old photos and found one of our church group on the coast. What are the odds that two people will find something of the other from so long ago at the same time? I'm not trying to say it's some sort of a sign, to drop everything, go running to her, marry her, and forget my life. No. I am much to happily in love with my wheelie woman to do that. Besides. Marlene is also married and clear over on the east coast, with ready access to traditional philly steaks. So now, we are exchanging e-mails, I have sent her pics of me and the boys, and am anxiously awaiting a pic or 20 from her.
Now. The second wonderfully good thing that happened to us today. A friend of April's showed up here less than an hour ago, just fresh out of rehab. Yay!! She's all clean and clear!! But that's not out awesome event. Seems while she was in, the state added over $300 in food stamps to her account. Since she lives alone, and her next food stamps come in just a few days, she decided to buy us some grocereys for the rest of the week and buy us dinner for tonight!! So. Even though some of the people we help out end up screwing us over, we still get good things happening for us. Yay karma!!
