Id just like to say that I think that emo music is one the most overly and unnecessarily hated on genres of music to come along since prog-rock. Everyone I know who listens or listened to a lot of emo music at some point are the first to deny its existence or validity. Most people are even afraid to say emo (minus Dan's mom-fuck she is hot though). I think it might perhaps correlate to peoples tendency to shy away from expressing their feelings, particularly emotional frailty. So lets have it...why does emo music not exist or suck over all? I dont understand. Many will pass off the entire genre as a complete waste consisting of whiners and/or sell outs (fuck success, right guys!) I find this aspect important because people will quickly admit to liking or listening to Punk, New Wave, Hardcore, Hip Hop or otherwise while scores of bands within those genres are terrible or monumental industry tossers but they seem to ride along comfortably with the respective geniuses of each category. Why the defense of emo music? well I wouldnt say its my favorite genre but i do see its importance and validity. i am confused by the constant slander it receives while others go relatively unscathed. There are two ends of each spectrum tossers on one and virtuosos on the other...Rick James respect that...
