Last week, Cayari was progessively getting worse and worse. She would not listen to A WORD I said. Actually, it seemed like the madder I got, the more she enjoyed it. She would just grin like she was having the time of her life. (WTF.) We talked to her parents and it just wasn't helping. :/ The principal couldn't do anything either, because her parents signed a form that said the school couldn't paddle her. (I've always been against hitting children, but damn. We are so frustrated by our efforts with her. We've tried getting mad, positive reinforcement, threatening to call her parents,... Nothing's worked so, a paddling seemed like the last resort. Ugh, I feel like a bad person for saying that.)
Anyway, I have her for afterschool and she was okay during snack and recess. Once we got inside, she just went nuts. She was running around the room and smiling maniacally as I tried to get her to sit down. She stole Ciji's pencil and ran around the room. When she passed me, I grabbed her and had to fight to get the pencil back. As soon as I let go of her, she grabbed Ciji's blanket and ran off again. This happened a few more times, while I called her mother. When she ran passed me, I grabbed her.
She KNEW I was on the phone with her mother, but didn't care. She stomped on my foot and her mother asked me to call her father. I did, while still holding on. She tried to bite me so I let go. Exasperated! -_-; Her father said he'd pick her up so, I went to my desk and wrote up a behavior report on her. All the while, she watched me and jumped off of chairs. I told her to stop and what I was doing, but she kept on and watched for my reaction. It was fucked up. (I feel like this doesn't sound as bad as it actually was. Oh! Earlier in the day she ran off from me TWICE in the hallway. Just took off like a wild monkey!) Sociopath for real.

AND while all that was happening, Dalla was having a looks-like-an-exorcism tantrum. I had the kids count lollipops to 50 and said that only those participating would get one. She was rolling on the floor and looking under tables so, I told her she couldn't have one. She freaked the fuck out! I told her she could get one if she finished one page of homework, but she just screamed "Noooo!" and thrashed about on the floor. I ignored her and then, dealt with Cayari. (I think that Dalla got quiet at about this point, but it was probably because she was watching me fight Cayari.)
As I was filling Cayari's behavior report, I noticed Dalla move away from her spot by the door and closer to my desk. I mentioned her homework again and she cried. :/ When it was time to go, I just got up and started calling their names to line up. She started kicking and screaming again. :/ The secretary called me over the intercom for something and I asked her to call the lead afterschool teacher to my room. When she came, she grabbed Dalla's hand and tried to lead her out of the room. Girl went deadweight and screamed in the doorway!
Afterschool Teacher told me to call The Principal so I did. It was about time for the buses to leave so, she told me to take the others on. Then, I heard her say, "Oh, NOW you want to go with Ms. Courtney." When I looked back, Dalla was in our line. That girl is wild, but I've never seen her like that! There have been many times she didn't do her work and couldn't get a lollipop, but she never minded. Anyway, on Friday, she was following me around in the morning and hugged me. At recess, she hugged me again and said, "I'm sorry I got mad at you!" I said, "Why did you get mad anyway? I didn't understand what you were mad about." She just shrugged and said, "I don't know!" O_o;;;
♥ My cousin's daughter Sierra is in my class. Her birthday was a couple of weekends ago and I went with my mom. We bought her some play make-up (because that's what she asked for) and clothes. Her buddy Isabella, who is also in my class, was there. The following Monday, Isabella said, "Ms. Courtney, on my birthday will you buy me make-up like you bought Sierra?" I said, "...But my mom bought it for her." (total lie. /bad person.) She said, "Well... Can you ask her to buy some for me, too?" haha.

♥ Kearson's brother Chip is in pre-K at our school. He's always asking, "Where's Kearson?" and whenever they see each other they hug at snacktime during afterschool. (You'd think they see enough of each other at home!) Once Chip came over while his class was lining up to go outside. They were talking about something and I said, "Chip, you better go. They're leaving you." He looked at his class and just turned back to Kearson (with a look of adoration on his face, I might add). Kearson looked at Chip's class, too, and when he looked back at Chip, he raised his arms up and started to shoo him out. Kearson chased Chip out the door and said, "Go! Go! Go!"
The next time, the pre-K class and mine were both lining up to go out. Kearson and Chip were hugging and Ms. Amanda was saying, "Come on, Chip! Let's go!" Kearson looked at Chip and started to push him away. Chip tried to cling on but Kearson pushed him down on the ground. I said, "Kearson!!" He said, "What? He fell." (lol) And the cutest thing is that though he'd just been pushed down, Chip was looking up at Kearson with a look that said, "Gee, you're the greatest!"

Last Friday, I got to see my first live footie game! The P.E. teacher decided to let the kids play and it was a mess. They were all over the place and kept forgetting which goal was theirs. It was pretty funny because they'd even go past the goal. We had to chase them down and point them in the right direction. Mostly they just ran around in circles. All I thought was: Silly American children. What Would David Villa Do? (Or Landon Donovan since he's American.)
Spain update: I searched and searched for a reasonably priced plane ticket to Valencia. A month or so ago, I found one that was $1300, but obviously I ignored fate and it was, now, giving me the finger. :( WELL, I spent hours on multiple travel sites only to find prices of $1400 to $1800. *teardrop* In the end, I used the flexible dates option and OMGZ found tickets to Barcelona for $1200 (tax included)! Also, the price was only available if I leave Jackson on Monday, May 25th and return from Barcelona on Thursday, July 2nd. :O!! That gives me five fun-filled Spain weeks! *dies* I bought the tickets that night so, now this is really cemented in stone. Next summer, I'm going to be in Spain. I am overwhelmed!
Oh, I also paid for 3 weeks at the spanish school. Maybe they will teach me all the useful things I'll need to get around the city. (I figure I can learn all the vulgar stuff from Laura. What to say during sex and whatnot. haha.) For Christmas, I'm going to buy myself a digital camera and try to keep a travel journal. My memory sucks so, I want to make a record of this trip. It's going to be fabulous and I plan on getting pregnant by Daviiiid. Silva or Villa? I don't even care anymore!
Lastly, I'm going to start writing my past life story again soon. I just don't feel like I'm done with my room, yet. It's painted and my furniture is in place, but I don't know! It doesn't look right. The walls are so blank and I feel like it makes the room look cheap/unfinished/unsophisticated. :( I'm going to hang up
this poster and
this one, but I don't think it's going to be enough. Sarah once gave me a pretty giftbag with a flamenco dancer on it. I wish I knew where I put it because I'd like to frame it and hang it up. /dork.
P.S. - Despite all common sense, all four kindergarten classes went to the state fair in Jackson, today. It was hot as hell and we didn't even get to do anything special. The rides were down so, we just took the kids to the 4-H section to see the cows and then, we went to the pitiful petting zoo. They got candy and soda, but didn't even get to play games. Yet somehow we got back to school late. I hear that the principal was pissed because we got back at 3, which is when we usually load buses. Oops! It wasn't a horrible trip, but I'm so drained. The sun and all the walking killed me.
P.S. part II - On a more serious note, my family recently found out that my aunt Barb has breast cancer, too. She waited about a year before going to the doctor (crazy, I know!) and had to have a mastectomy. Also, I think that the cancer progressed farther in her than it did in my mom. :/ She's really positive (or that's how she appears when we're around), so that's good. We're all hoping for the best, but it's pretty scary. Now, that makes four people who've had breast cancer on my mom's side of the family and one with lung cancer. I don't know about my dad's. It's a mess. :/
