It's interesting what the internet has done to things like old wive's tales. In the past, when my mom would tell me "if your ears are ringing someone is talking about you" you'd take it at face value. Now within seconds you can verifty what is sense and what is non-sense. A subtle effect of the internet is a significant boost of the race's knowledge about what is true and what is folklore.
