Entering Another Reality

"After my first experience with what later became known as LSD... After that experience i tried to find some sort of explanation. Each individual who experiences LSD enters another reality. He enters another world seemingly even more real than actual reality. Until that day, i'd always thought there was only one reality. Suddenly, i was experiencing another. I tried to understand scientifically how it was one could experience another reality. Then i said to myself that, for reality to exist, you need someone to experience that reality or it doesn't exist. We need a subject that is experiencing as well as an object that is experienced.

Take television as a metaphor. For a picture to appear on a screen, there must be a transmitter, a receiver and an antenna. In the case of the representation of reality, the outer, material world acts as the transmitter and our senses as the antenna. Our consciousness acts like the TV screen, transforming impulses from the outside into a living picture of the external world."
