I think its funny. I am going to see wicked April 14 (eeeee!!!) and I am almost 3/4 through the book. I just read a review of the book saying "don't read it right before you go see the play, because they are SO VERY VERY different that it will ruin one or the other or both for you"
Seeing as I have already memorized the soundtrack, I can tell how different they really are. It seems that the only think similar are the names of the characters haha.
I guess this just proves, yet again, that you have to take everything as a separate entity, and not take it as a direct interpretation of the book. Harry Potter has taught me this. haha.
I wonder when the Harry Potter Musical will come out...
*exerpt from the obligatory medley-type thing, where everyone reveals their true thoughts, before the twist comes and changes everything*
Harry> *singing* OH VOLDIE! YOU CAN NOT STOP ME.... for I am HarryPotter, and I have a scarrrrrrrrrrr!
Ron> *in the background, also singing* ... I love her.... I love her.....
Hermione> studystudystudystudyHORMONES!studystudystudystudyHORMONES!
Voldie> HARRY YOU CAN NOT WINNNNN! I have no nose!!!!!
Hagrid> YAY! A dragon!
*dramatic music somehow blending all thest things together*
