I picked up the brush and did a mess of little symbols for the Snow From Korea cards.
I imagine them as little cards like hanafuda, with black frames and icons for quick reading down the top right (right because I am lefty and contrary), in red ink, and black-and-red line drawings in the main area.
In the first row, we have Fire, Metal, Water, Wood, and Earth.
Then the four seasons and their associated flowers:
Spring: Plum, Wisteria, Cherry
Summer: Lotus, Peony, Silver Grass
Autumn: Chrysanthemum, Willow, Maple
Winter: Jasmine, Pine, Paulownia
Then some miscellaneous icons:
Flag and Ribbon (which mean the same thing), Animal, Bright
Sun, Sky, Sea
Some are more successful than others...
I like the fish for Water. Looks like I got jostled while I was doing the Metal dagger.
I don't think Wisteria buds look like that.
The Lotus is beautiful, I love the ambiguous swirl that could be water or a lilypad.
The Autumn pomegranate and the Chrysanthemum are like the best icons of all. Willow doesn't match stylistically with anything.
The whole Winter row feels half-assed.
Animal is great. Sun's asymmetry is awesome.
