Anthony & I watched a movie the other day called The Wristcutters: A Love Story. I knew instantly I'd love it, because I'm a fan of Patrick Fugit. (I even dragged Anthony to Saved! when it first came out in theaters.) It's a movie based on a short story called "Kneller's Happy Campers" (which I'm going to be reading!). The premise is a guy who kills himself goes to an alternate "suicide purgatory" for lack of a better way to describe it. He is searching for his former girlfriend, who also killed herself. It's random, unexpected, dark, and hilarious. I love the quirky characters and the movie soundtrack. How fun!
I wish it'd warm up already. It's June and cold! We were planning a camping trip today with Stacy, Steve, Andy, & Rachel, & the kids, but it's rainy and cold. It would not be fun with 3 one-and-a-half year olds. Instead, we went to the park, grilled out, and played. My favorite part was when the boys were all in the little tent having a mosh pit & giggling hysterically. Such boys!
I've almost completed my first year of teaching. It's gone so fast. I'm anxious for summer, but looking forward to a fresh start next school year. (And I'm even glad that I have a job for next year, even if it is not my first choice of locations.)
Lastly, our anniversary is approaching. We're planning a Chicago weekend. Though, I have yet to make reservations. I'd better get on that...
