I got my student teaching placement! I'm in a 2nd grade class in East Troy!
Hmm... so it's Friday; I'm happy about that.
Mainly, I do not want to go to work, because my boss is rediculous!
Yesterday, she confronted me about an incident that occurred the previous day. Long story short, a boy hit a girl in the face and knocked her (semi-loose) tooth out. I talked with the kids, heard their stories, told them it was unacceptable and explained that I'd talk to parents, filled out all the proper paperwork and recorded everything... exactly what I was supposed to do. My boss comes up to me the next day and is angry that I did not come get her when it happened! She lectured me for about 15 minutes, blah, blah blah. I explained that I didn't even think to come get her. I thought I handled it fine. Whatever...
Yesterday I also informed her of my student teaching placement, when it begins, etc. I asked her to give me hours during my month break. I also informed her that I may be taking an extended leave of absence while I'm student teaching. (I thought I'd be polite and let her know so she can arrange someone else to work). She asks me all these questions about why I would need to take a leave of absence during this time (student teaching is going to be a lot of work!). Then, she has the nerve to turn it around on me and guilt trip me into staying and working while student teaching because of the following:
1) the kids are familiar with me and my routine,
2) they know my expectations
3) "you can get here by 3:30pm"
4) "we'll find someone else to do the dishes"
5) I don't have anyone else to work that room.
Gee, maybe that's why I'm telling her 2 months in advance!!! So she can find someone else. Man that woman is manipulative. I told her I need to talk to my cooperating teacher and I'll get back to her. I really don't think I want to work during student teaching though. That's like a full time job, plus! OH well. It'll get worked out. That just irks me though!!!!
